Terms of service

Welcome to Optic. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Optic, including our website at optic.sh, our dashboard at app.optic.sh, our Framer plugin, and any related services (together, the "Service"). Optic is a product by System.Supply™. By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
What Optic Is
Optic is an AI-powered search and answer widget that site owners add to their Framer websites. Optic scans the content of a customer’s site, including pages and CMS collections, and uses that content to answer questions asked by the site’s visitors through a widget summoned by a button or keyboard shortcut. Optic is a tool for site owners (“Customers”, “you”) to add to their own websites. Optic is not itself a search engine, general-purpose AI assistant, or a replacement for professional advice.
Accounts
To use the Optic dashboard or install the Optic plugin, you need an account. You’re responsible for:
Providing accurate information when creating your account
Keeping your login credentials secure
All activity that happens under your account
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account.
Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)
Optic operates on a “bring your own key” model. To generate answers, Optic connects to third-party AI providers, currently including Groq, Anthropic, and OpenAI, using an API key that you provide and control.
By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree that:
You are responsible for obtaining, maintaining, and paying for your own account and API key with your chosen AI provider(s).
Your use of any third-party AI provider is governed by that provider’s own terms of service, privacy policy, and pricing, not by these Terms.
We are not responsible for the availability, pricing, rate limits, downtime, or output of any third-party AI provider.
Any usage charges billed by your chosen AI provider are between you and that provider. Optic does not mark up, resell, or otherwise control those charges.
Plans, Billing, and Payment
Optic offers free and paid subscription plans, details of which are available at optic.sh/pricing. Paid subscriptions are billed and processed through our payment provider, Polar.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing period.
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise.
Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly stated otherwise.
We may change our pricing or plans, with reasonable notice provided to existing subscribers before changes take effect.
AI-Generated Content
Answers produced by Optic are generated automatically by third-party AI models based on your site's content. While Optic is designed to answer using your own content, AI-generated responses: - May occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date - Are not guaranteed to be correct, and should not be relied upon for legal, medical, financial, or other decisions requiring professional advice - Reflect the content you've made available to Optic and the behaviour of the underlying AI provider, which we do not fully control You are responsible for reviewing and monitoring the answers Optic gives your visitors, and for correcting or removing source content that produces inaccurate results.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to: - Violate any applicable law or regulation - Infringe the intellectual property or other rights of any third party - Upload or index content you don't have the right to use - Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service's infrastructure - Use the Service to build a directly competing product without our written permission We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Your Content
You retain all rights to the content on your website and in your CMS. By using Optic, you grant us a limited license to access, index, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you (i.e., generating answers for your visitors). We don't claim ownership of your content, and we don't use it to train our own models.
Intellectual Property
Optic, including its software, branding, and design, is a product of System.Supply and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or brand assets beyond what's needed to use the Service as intended.
Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party platforms, including Framer, Polar, and AI providers such as Groq, Anthropic, and OpenAI. We aren't responsible for the availability, performance, or practices of these third parties, and your use of them is subject to their own terms.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED ANSWERS WILL BE ACCURATE.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, or for any other reason with reasonable notice, except where immediate termination is necessary to protect the Service or other users.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through the Service before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
